RPS Clinical Research Poster Competition Brief

The BPSA Clinical Research Poster Competition is brought to you by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS). It is an exciting opportunity to present your clinical research to your peers and leading members of our profession. This competition provides you with an opportunity to demonstrate key skills that employers look for, such as professional engagement and professional development. If you have conducted any pharmacy practice or clinical research, then make sure you submit your research poster!

So, how do I enter?

Entrants should be studying for a Pharmacy degree or undertaking their Foundation Year Training. Please complete the Google Form provided to upload your poster.

Assessment Criteria:

  • Work should be your own and may include projects you have completed during your undergraduate MPharm degree including your Masters (3rd or 4th Year) projects, other undergraduate research (including clinical projects or your dissertations), summer research work or any Foundation Training work within the above field.

  • Audits or projects you have undertaken during your Foundation Training year.

  • Research should be in the field of pharmacy practice, including clinical and pre-clinical research (i.e. research, audits, service evaluation, quality improvement projects and systematic reviews).

  • Maximum 1 page of A0 and no more than 500 words (excluding title, authors, and references).

  • Poster should include: a title, authors (including any collaborators other than yourself), abstract, introduction and aims, methods, results, discussion, conclusion and references.

  • Images and tables may be included, and references should use the Vancouver system.

Adjudication process:

Each poster will be judged on the stated objectives, methods, results, discussion, impact on patient care/pharmaceutical knowledge, and whether the abstract conforms to guidelines outlined above.
