BPSA x ANEPF International Competition Brief: Reshaping Community Pharmacy - A Post-Pandemic Analysis

The British Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (BPSA) and the Association Nationale des Étudiants en Pharmacie de France (ANEPF) are proud to announce the first-ever international competition in BPSA history!
This competition invites members from both associations to explore and present their perspectives on how community pharmacy has evolved in their respective countries since the COVID-19 pandemic. From service delivery and public health responsibilities to digital transformation and workforce resilience, the competition provides a platform to reflect, compare, and learn from each other’s systems.
Entries should be submitted in the form of a video or video presentation, allowing participants to showcase their insights in a creative and engaging way.
So whether you're flying the BPSA or ANEPF flag this is your chance to showcase your knowledge, represent your country, and have your work recognised on an international stage.
So, how do I enter?
Entrants should be a member of the BPSA - studying towards a GPhC accredited Pharmacy degree or undertaking their Foundation Training Year.
Please upload your video entry via the Google Form provided and complete all the relevant sections.
Ensure that all video files are renamed to include the full names of all entrant(s) and the initials of their Member Organisation (e.g. Sarah Antwi_Becky Smith_BPSA).
Additional Entry Information
All entrants must upload a clear photo of themselves via the Google Form provided. Photos may be used in promotional materials if their entry is successful.
Please ensure that all photos are renamed to include the full name of the entrant(s) and the initials of their Member Organisation (e.g. Sarah Antwi_BPSA).
By uploading your photo, you consent to its use by the competition organisers in promotional content featuring the winner(s) and runner-up(s).

Assessment Criteria:
Topic: Explore the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic on community pharmacy in Great Britain, examining how the pandemic has reshaped the profession, from changes in patient interaction and service delivery, to the adoption of digital tools and evolving public health responsibilities.
Target audience: Pharmacy students and professionals interested in gaining insight into your country’s experiences and responses during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Reflect on and analyse the key changes, challenges faced, new working practices that have taken shape, and the lasting impact of the pandemic on the role of community pharmacists today.
Video or video presentation must not exceed 5 minutes in length. Accepted format: .mp4, with a maximum file size of 1 GB.
This competition accepts a maximum of two official entrants per submission (additional individuals may feature in the video, but only the named entrants will be eligible for prizes and recognition).
All entries should be clear, well-structured, and informative, with high-quality audio and video.
Participants may use slides, graphics, or other visual aids to enhance their video or video presentation.
All text included in the video or video presentation must be grammatically correct and free from spelling and punctuation errors.
Videos or video presentations should cover some or all of the following:
Overview of the impact of COVID-19 on community pharmacy in Great Britain.
Key challenges faced by community pharmacies post-pandemic.
Innovations and policy changes introduced in response to the pandemic.
Comparison of pre-pandemic vs. post-pandemic pharmacy practice.
The future of community pharmacy, lessons learned and long-term changes.
All entrants must upload a PDF or Microsoft Word document via the Google Form provided, containing a numbered bibliography of all sources consulted in the creation of their video or video presentation. Each entry should include the date the source was accessed (e.g. https://www.bpsa.co.uk/ – Accessed on Saturday 26th April 2025).
Please ensure that all PDF or Microsoft Word uploads are renamed to include the full names of all entrants in the submission and the initials of their Member Organisation (e.g. Sarah Antwi_Becky Smith_BPSA).
Images and tables may be included in entries; however, all data and information used must be appropriately referenced in the accompanying bibliography.
Please note that all entries must be delivered in English.
Adjudication Process:
All entries will be assessed on the following criteria:
Creativity and originality: How engaging, creative or unique is the approach taken?
Relevance to the competition theme: How well does the video explore the aftermath of COVID-19 on community pharmacy in the entrant’s country?
Clarity and structure: Is the information clearly presented and logically organised?
Insight and depth of analysis: Does the entry demonstrate thoughtful reflection and a strong understanding of the topic?
Factual accuracy: Is the information presented accurate and supported by credible, reliable sources?
Impact and delivery: Is the message compelling, and does the video leave a lasting impression on the viewer?
Technical presentation: Consideration of video quality, audio clarity, and effective use of visuals or supporting media (professional production is not required, but entries should be clear and easy to follow).
The judging panel will select one overall winner, along with a runner-up from both the BPSA and ANEPF, based on the outlined criteria. All selected participants will be notified following the competition deadline.
The Prize:
First Place: The winner(s) will receive:
A £70 Eurostar e-gift card or alternatively a one-year 16–25 Railcard (if eligible - click here to check eligibility).
A certificate of achievement in recognition of their outstanding effort and contribution to the competition.
The opportunity to have their video entry showcased on both BPSA and ANEPF official social media platforms.
Runner-Up: The runner-up(s) will receive:
A £10 Waterstones e-gift card to spend on books or educational resources of their choice.
A certificate of achievement in recognition of their effort and contribution to the competition.
